Your Vote Matters

By Glenn Bergman, Executive Director

Election Day is Tuesday, November 6, and Philabundance is urging our staff, our partners, our clients and our neighbors to exercise this precious right.

Your vote is the strongest tool you have to change your community. When you vote, you tell your elected officials what’s important to you and remind them that they are accountable to you and your fellow citizens.

More than 60 percent of the world’s population doesn’t have access to free and fair elections. That means that on November 6, you can do something that some people can’t imagine – choose your leaders based on what’s important to you.

If you care about hunger, your vote can affect which policies are implemented and impact the lives of hundreds of thousands of your neighbors.

Your vote is the strongest tool you have to change your community.

At Philabundance we strive every day to drive hunger from our communities today and end hunger forever. In serving over 90,000 people each week, we know it is an issue that will not be solved overnight, but with your help, and strong policies to address hunger on the local, state and national level, we can be one step closer.

That’s why this Election Day, Philabundance encourages everyone to take time to go to the polls. If you aren’t sure where you polling place is or have questions about your rights as a voter there are groups in PA and NJ that have all those details for you.

If you’re able to help your neighbors get to the polls, do it. If you need help, ask.

Our communities are strong because we lean on each other, and they become stronger when we exercise this right together.

Thank you,
