We’re excited to launch our Spread the Love campaign this month which will run through the end of February. The main objectives of the Spread the Love initiative are to collect food, raise funds, and increase awareness about food insecurity during a traditionally slow time of year post-holiday giving.  Our goal is to collect and distribute 40,000 jars of peanut butter and nut butter alternatives in celebration of Philabundance’s 40th Anniversary.

Peanut butter and nut butter alternatives can be expensive for families to buy. The sweet and salty spread is a delicious, satisfying, and versatile food packed with protein, calcium, magnesium, and other essential nutrients. It’s a shelf stable item that all food panties need. Your donation will allow Philabundance to ensure individuals and families will have a healthy, tasty option on their shelves.

There are several ways you can support the campaign. You can drop off individual donations Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm at the following locations:

Galloway Warehouse

3616 S Galloway Street

Philadelphia, PA 19148

Berks Warehouse

302 W Berks Street

Philadelphia, PA 19122

You can also host a special food drive encouraging people to donate peanut butter and additional nut spreads. Hosting a food drive is a fun, hands-on way to give back and help solve hunger – within your families, groups of friends, workplaces, community and religious organizations, and neighborhoods and more.

To learn how you can register your individual food drive and access the tools you need to have a successful event, visit Philabundance.org. One week prior to delivering your collected items, please contact fooddrives@philabundance.org to schedule a drop-off time.

You can also make a financial contribution here on our website. The much-needed funds will allow us to purchase additional peanut and nut butters, as well as other essential, nutritious foods.

We appreciate your support in helping us ensure everyone has access to the food they want and need to thrive.
