Philabundance This Thanksgiving

We are Thankful for YOU

Together, with your help, we were able to fill both plates AND hearts this Thanksgiving despite the increased costs of food. Through both physical and monetary donations, we’re ensuring our neighbors in need can celebrate and enjoy the bounty of the holiday with family and friends.

“We think about times like this, the times of the holiday, especially when inflation is so high, it becomes that much more important for us to deliver on our mission to ensure that our families have access to fresh, healthy food and, frankly, to have a happy Thanksgiving,” explained Philabundance CEO Loree D. Jones Brown.

We’re thankful for each and every one of YOU for your continued support and dedication to our mission of ending hunger now and ending hunger for good.

We truly appreciate our incredible staff and volunteers who spend hours upon hours keeping our operation running successfully. Additionally, our 350 community partners are a key component in what we do, as they provide central distribution sites for the respective communities they serve. They’re our boots on the ground in carrying out our essential work.

From individual donors to corporate partners, every dollar helps us provide healthy food to the communities we serve in the Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey regions. This year, we were fortunate to work closely with several partners to distribute turkeys and other Thanksgiving trimmings.

Philabundance is proud to announce our 2022 Thanksgiving totals:

  • More than 27,000 poultry items distributed (over 16,000 turkeys and close to 12,000 chickens)
  • More than $385,000 spent by Philabundance on poultry items
  • More than 3,300 poultry items donated to Philabundance

We also had a very special Thanksgiving meal walk-up/drive-up distribution at the Philabundance Community Kitchen, where approximately 900 households were served. The healthy, fresh food items included frozen turkeys, frozen sides and sweet potato pies prepared by the PCK chefs, and fresh produce box with potatoes, onions, yams, and carrots. Here’s a CBS3 newsclip.

Thank you to our corporate donors!
