Its ok to ask for help

Philabundance community partners are dedicated to helping our neighbors facing food insecurity. Whether you’re experiencing a temporary setback or ongoing challenges, our network of partners are here to provide nourishment and assistance. Remember, it’s perfectly okay to ask for help. Together, we’re building a stronger, healthier community for everyone.

Mizpah Seventh-Day Adventist Church provides fresh food to those in need, creating a welcoming and supportive community. Volunteers and organizations like Philabundance play a crucial role in helping people access nutritious food and essential supplies.

"It was difficult to ask for help for many, many years. I guess it was about 15 years. I guess it was pride. I just didn’t want to ask for the assistance that I needed. I was using my credit card, and things just started going up and up and up. I finally swallowed my pride and came to ask for help, but this has helped me a great deal to come to the food pantry, so this is very emotional for me, but I think this organization needs to know how much they are helping people."

Philabundance has been instrumental in serving hundreds of people daily, ensuring they have access to high-quality items comparable to those found in supermarkets but without the high prices. Through their dedication and partnership, Philabundance and its volunteers are making a significant impact in addressing food insecurity and meeting the needs of individuals and families in the community.

The Ronald McDonald House relies on food donations from Philabundance to provide nourishing meals for families in need. The donations help financially and allow them to create meals for around 280 to 300 guests. Without the donations, they would have to adjust their stocking and pay out of pocket, which would strain their resources.

Bebashi offers a range of services for the LGBTQ+ community, including a trans necessity closet, case management, and prevention programs for HIV/AIDS. They provide a one-stop shop for clients, meeting their needs for care, food, and resources.

Helping people, through volunteering at food pantries, not only benefits others but also provides valuable experiences and a sense of fulfillment. The pantry is a lifeline for many families, and volunteers of all ages contribute to making a positive impact on the community.

“It's a blessing. I share with my grandchildren who are more strapped for cash than I am. With meat being so high you can’t afford meat anymore. It's a true blessing!”
