Over the course of four weeks in August, Philabundance partnered with over 25 locations to distribute 240,000 meals throughout the Philadelphia area. This effort was part of a national campaign called Pass the Love that was brought to Philadelphia by Partnership for a Healthier America and former First Lady Michelle Obama.
Each week, families could come and pick up a meal kit that included all ingredients for fresh, nutritious and easy-to-prepare meals that were inspired by the Netflix show Waffles + Mochi. The goal was to give everyone access to good, high-quality food, giving families the resources to cook a nutritious meal together. Every child, every family and every person should have access to the food they want and need.
Throughout the month, Philabundance partners, staff and volunteers stepped up through the heat and rain to ensure families could access this program. We are so grateful for everyone who helped us Pass the Love and hope we can continue the spirit of the program throughout the year.
